Join the trap committee on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The day will be devoted to teaching new shooters the basics of trap shooting. Members will be on hand to provide 1:1 instruction. Members can purchase rounds of trap for $3.50 each or purchase a ten round trap card for $30. Shooters are responsible for providing their own ammunition, number 8 or 9 shot, maximum speed of 1,250 feet/second. These stats are printed on the boxes of shotgun shells. Each round is 25 shots, i.e. a full box, so plan to bring multiple boxes. You will like it that much! Bring your shotgun. We will also have a few 12 gauge guns there you to use if you do not have a shotgun.
Why we say “Pull” when we want the target released instead of “Push” (The “puller” actually “pushes” a button…!?)
Why the targets are called “Birds” (they are actually made of clay…no feathers)
Why the targets are fluorescent orange (probably many of us can’t see so good)
What to say when you miss a bird (lots of thought into the correct cuss words)
What to say when the person next to you misses a bird (we’re all friends)
This will be a relaxed day of instruction, practice and learning about a very enjoyable part of your club. Please consider joining us.
