Ipswich Fish and Game Training

We now offer Firearm Safety Training

The next Home Firearm Safety class will be held on

Saturday, Aug 23rd, 2008 at 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

At the Ipswich Fish and Game Association you can receive either:

Home Firearm Safety  (Mass Approved Course LTC-007)

or

Basic Pistol (Mass Approved Course LTC-002)

Note: Either course will satisfy the Massachusetts training requirement for an FID (Firearms ID) and/or an LTC (License To Carry firearms).

All classes are taught at the Ipswich Fish and Game club house at 22 Paradise Road in Ipswich.

Home Firearm Safety: Current IF&G Members $50, Public $65.

  • 4 1/2 hours long.  Week Day Evenings starting at 6:00 PM or Weekends starting at 9:00 AM.
  • Classroom only, no live fire sessions.
  • Covers:

    Safe Handling

    Basic Identification

    Ammunition

    Loading and Unloading

    Cleaning

    Storage

    Massachusetts State Laws

  • Course designed for people that have firearms experience and need a certification for an LTC/FID or for people that have no firearms experience and want only an FID.

  • This course does meet the minimum legal requirements for an LTC in Massachusetts. 

 

 

Basic Pistol is not offered at this time.  Once the new pistol range is completed it will offered about once per quarter.

 

Basic Pistol: Current IF&G Members $100, Public $130.

  • 8 Hours long.  Week ends only.  Either All Day on Saturday or split between two days.

  • 6 Hours of Classroom, 2 hours of live fire on the IF&G pistol range.

  • Course is designed for beginning to intermediate students that want to learn about pistols.  This course is ideal for students planning to apply for an LTC.
