Massachusetts Blended Basic Hunter Safety Course

Event Details

IFGA is hosting the MassWildlife Blended Hunter Safety Course. This course is conducted by MassWildlife instructors.

In this Blended learning format, students read and learn the course material ahead of time on their own to prepare for in class activities with the instructor and peers. This format requires students to complete the online MA Hunter Study Guide (50% of the course) before attending one in-person class known as the Field Day (50% of the course) for hands-on practice and to take the final exam.

This blended format is a good option for students with tight schedules and who are self-motivated, conscientious, and learn well on their own.

Students 17 years of age or younger must have parental consent to attend our courses (download the minor permission form). Parents and Guardians are invited and encouraged to stay during the class session. Please note that this format may be difficult for students less than 16 years of age unless they receive guidance while completing the homework assignment.

Procedure to complete the course:

  • First, complete the online Massachusetts Hunter Safety Study Guide at huntercourse.com. You must complete all 16 chapters and all 16 quizzes prior to registration. Use the Course Outline to move from chapter to chapter, quiz to quiz.
  • Next, submit this online form to register, provide proof of completing the study guide, and select a field day (dates listed below).
  • Finally, attend the field day to finish the course and take the final exam.

The course is free to attend.
