MA Wildlife Hunter Education course

We will be hosting a MA Wildlife Hunter Education course at Ipswich Fish and Game. This is a required course for anyone who would like to hunt in Massachusetts. The course is conducted over an evening and a Sunday morning/afternoon.

The dates of the course will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 4:30-9:30 pm, and Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Course registration can only be done via the MA Wildlife website, and courses fill very quickly.

We have reserved four seats in the course for club members. If interested in attending, email daveclarkson@ipswichfishandgame.org with your request.

We will draw four names from those who respond on Saturday, April 28th.

As part of the long-term planning process going on this year, one of the ways the board is seeking input from the members of the IFGA is through a membership survey.

We encourage you to participate by filling out this short survey

Please help us better understand how you use the club and what if any changes you would like to see.

Annual Meeting & Officer/Director Elections April 2nd

Our Annual meeting and Officer/Director elections will be held the evening of April 2, 2018.

This year we have two Director positions open for three year terms.

Our four Officer positions are also open for election at the meeting, as these are one year terms.

If you would like to consider running for one of these positions, please contact Shaune Donohue or Jeff Brown  and they will ensure that your name is placed on the April ballot.

The IFGA will be hosting a Cheer shoot and Holiday pot luck on Sunday December 17th starting at 10am.

Abbreviated trap games, for a variety of fabulous prizes. $5.00 per game. Bonus points if you shoot in a Santa hat! Members, and guests are welcome, all levels of shooters from beginning to seasoned. Shoot proceeds to be donated to CureCMT4J nonprofit, in help of Ipswich Middle School 6th grade student Talia Duff.
Followed at 2:00pm by the pot luck and Yankee Swap
IFGA will host a free potluck lunch for all interested members, whether participating in trap cheer shoot or not. The more the merrier! Please bring your best December comfort food to share with others. Come on out, meet your fellow members, make new fiends, and enjoy old friends. There is a potluck sign up sheet in the clubhouse so that we can ensure a variety of items on the menu. There will also be a Yankee Swap ($20 suggested gift) during lunch for those interested in exchanging gifts.

Cost is $100 for the 4-5 hour course. Please see the detailed description of the course here, which we have offered before. It is a very popular course and the instructors have done a great job in the prior sessions. If you are interested in attending, please mail in the enrollment page included in the attached summary by the due date indicated. The packet will also be posted on the club website.

Celebration of the life of Pick Thistlewood June 11th

Sadly our great friend, Director, and true Ipswich character Pick Thistlewood passed away Thursday May 18th at home after a short battle with cancer.
All members are invited to join us in celebrating his life and assisting Pick’s family during this difficult time. To show our combined support and gratitude for all his contributions to the IFGA as a member, Director, Building and Grounds Chairman, and most importantly as our friend we are holding a benefit and celebration of his life on Sunday June 11th

Sunday June 11th, shooting events will be held on all ranges from 10am-1:45pm. Food served at 2:30.

2017 membership renewals & officer elections

All memberships renew as of April 1st each year. Please print and complete a membership form, indicating any changes in your address, phone, preferred email address, etc. Please mail the form back to the club P.O. Box or hand deliver to the clubhouse as outlined in the instructions. Checks should be made payable to IFGA.

All members are encouraged to attend the April 3, 2017 Annual Membership meeting. We will begin at 6:30 pm and will serve pizza and soft drinks.
