Draw From the Holster Clinic

Event Details

The IFGA Rifle and Pistol Committee is sponsoring a Holster Clinic on Sat 20 April from 8:00am-12:00pm. This clinic will be led by Dave Pais, NRA Training Councilor, and member of the IFGA R/P committee.

Many of us carry pistols, but do not have the opportunity or knowledge of how to draw a pistol safely and correctly. This clinic will go through the fundamentals of drawing from the holster, engaging a target, and safely reholstering a loaded pistol.

This clinic will go through proper holster draws using an Inside the Waistband or Outside the Waistband holster. We will conduct significant dry practice of holster draws followed by multiple live fire exercises.

Sign in is at 8:00-8:45am (don’t be late!) The safety briefing will start promptly at 8:45 and people arriving late will not be permitted to join the clinic for safety reasons.

Clinic Requirements: An appropriate carry pistol of a minimum caliber of 9mm or .38 Spl. 50 rounds of ammunition (training ammunition is fine). A strong side (3 O’clock carry), Inside the Waistband or Outside the Waistband holster that covers the entire trigger and trigger guard. Minimum of 2 magazines to allow for reload practice. A jacket or sweatshirt to allow for concealment practice. Finally, a strong attitude to learn.

This clinic will be limited to 10 students with a cost of $35.00 per student. A waiting list will be maintained for any cancellations. If there is strong interest, the R/P Committee will schedule additional clinics.
